Founded on July 10, 1980 by Superintendent Sam L. Townsend Sr. and his wife, 1st Lady Gwendolyn Lawson Townsend, this family and community focused ministry has the Word of God as our “roadmap” homeward. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, containing one harmonious and sufficiently complete system of doctrine. We believe in the full inspiration of the Word of God. We hold the Word of God to be the only authority in all matters and assert that no doctrine can be true or essential, if it does not find a place in this Word. Our church is a Pentecostal Church and we believe that the baptism of the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it.

WHAT TO EXPECT: PARKING
We’re located on the main thoroughfare of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South in Seattle, Washington. There is direct access to limited parking in our lot. There is also parking in the rear parking lot and on back street. Also, 1/2 block north of the church, on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Graham Street, is a large DSHS building with excessive parking available in the evening and on Sunday (if there is a need for valet parking, drive into our church parking lot and you will be greeted by our Security who will be happy to park your car for you).
WHAT TO EXPECT: CHILDREN
On Sundays we don’t have “Children’s Church” because our children are welcomed to worship with us!
On Tuesdays, though, we are excited to gather our youth and teens for Power Tuesday: teaching/learning, activities, and a light dinner before joining us for review and dismissal.
WHAT TO EXPECT: WORSHIP
When you enter the foyer you will be greeted with a smile, a mint and a church brochure/bulletin. You will be directed to the sanctuary door and after entering you will be directed by our friendly efficient ushers to a seat of your choice. Our worship service is awesome because of the dedication of the worship leaders.

Our services are not structured or planned but customized by the leading of the Lord. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The message is straight out of the bible – taught in a practical, applicable way with relevant analogies and a genuine sense of humor. Our Pastor is energetic, prayerful, dynamic! What do I wear?… Many love to be in their “Sunday Best” and others are a bit more casual. As our guest, our desire is that you just come in whatever makes you feel comfortable in His house. WHAT TO EXPECT: NEW MEMBERS
Once you have made that great decision to join the Greater Glory Ministries, you will introduced to the Pastor (although he will probably have already introduced himself to you) and before the close of service he will give you the “right hand of fellowship” (shake your hand and welcome you to the Greater Glory Ministries), give you some instructions, and direct you to a Greeter who will talk with you, give you a New Members Packet, and get you signed up for a Membership Course. After completing the Membership Course, you will be encouraged and assisted in getting tied into one of the various ministries, one of your choice.
